Jimmy Kimmel falsely claimed Charlie Kirkās alleged assassin was tied to MAGA ā then ignored his lie on the very next show. ABC has yet to respond.
On Monday night, Jimmy Kimmel opened his late-night program by falsely claiming that Charlie Kirk's alleged assassin was part of the "MAGA gang" and mocked those mourning Kirkās death in the process. "We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it," Kimmel said. Of course, Kimmelās is not accurate. Even before his Monday taping, Utah Gov. Spencer Cox had publicly stated that the suspect, Tyler Robinson, embraced a "leftist ideology" and had grown increasingly radicalized. Later-released text messages between Robinson and his trans partner confirmed that he targeted Kirk over the conservative activistās beliefs. "I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and Iām going to take it," Robinson texted. "I had enough of [Kirkās] hatred. Some hate canāt be negotiated out." In other words, Kimmel lies to his audience by spreading dangerous, politically convenient propaganda. Further, he has yet to correct himself. On Tuesday night, rather than addressing his false claim, Kimmel instead mocked Donald Trump for grieving Kirkās death. Does ABC stand by Kimmel? Will the network issue a correction? As of Monday, OutKick asked those questions. ABC has not responded. Perhaps ABC is still looking into correspondent Matt Gutman's remarks this week, when he described Robinsonās murder confession as "touching," calling it "a very intimate portrait" of his relationship with his lover. Gutman later offered a half-hearted apology. These reactions are grotesque. Instead of condemning the assassination of a 31-year-old husband and father of two, ABCās personalities downplayed it, spun it, or even sympathized with the alleged killer. Jimmy Kimmel should be held accountable. He knowingly spread falsehoods for political convenience, mocked grieving Americans, and has refused to address his lies. This now falls on ABC. By the way, Kimmel shouldn't be in the business of ridiculing men for crying over Kirk's death. After all, Kimmel admitted to crying when Trump won the election.

The king praised the U.S.-U.K. trade deal as the second Trump administrationās first agreement on tariffs and quipped about the longtime close relationship, referencing his 1970 visit to the U.S. and being photographed with former President Nixonās daughter, Tricia. āHad the media succeeded in the 1970s in their own attempt at deepening the special relationship, I myself might have been married off within the Nixon family,ā he said to laughter in the room. Additionally, the king spoke about the ābondā between the two nations and how far they had come as the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence nears. āI cannot help but wonder what our forebears from 1776 would make of this friendship today,ā the king said. āWe celebrate a relationship between our two countries that surely neither [George] Washington nor King George III could possibly have imagined. The ocean may still divide us, but in so many other ways we are now the closest of kin.ā The president spoke after the king and hailed the special relationship between the U.S. and the U.K., noting that he was on his second state visit to the country. āThe word special does not begin to do it justice. Weāre joined by history and faith, by love and language and by transcendent ties of culture, tradition, ancestry and destiny. Weāre like two notes in one chord or two verses in the same poem. Each beautiful on its own but really meant to be played together,ā Trump said. āTogether weāve done more good for humanity than any two countries in all of history. Together we must defend the exceptional heritage that makes us who we are, and we must continue to stand for the values and the people of the English-speaking world,ā he added. He made a toast to āone of the great friendshipsā and to the King, whom he called a āvery, very special man.ā āThis is truly one of the highest honors of my life, such respect for you and such respect for your country,ā Trump said. He also called Prince William āreally amazingā and said Princess Kate, who is recovering from cancer, was looking āso radiant, so healthy and so beautiful.ā Trump on Thursday morning is expected to leave Windsor Castle and travel to the Chequers Estate for a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Keir Starmer, followed by a press conference.
